"The Anatomy Of A Disaster" - a research paper by Joel Zemel and Pierre Richard on the myths surrounding two photographs depicting the blast cloud from the Halifax Explosion - click here This project is in need of archival photos of key figures connected with the 1917 Halifax Explosion and the subsequent Wreck Commissioner's Inquiry. I have provided a list of RCN, RN, mariners, dockyard workers, other military and government personnel as well as members of the judiciary. To descendants of Frederick Evan Wyatt, R.N.R. (b.1878) and Dorothy Manners Brookfield (Wyatt, Brookfield, Harrington, Piers or O'Neill) that may live in Canada, Portsmouth or Swansea, England, Daytona Beach, Fla., Boston Mass. (possibly in Middlesex County), California or Aukland, New Zealand: I would appreciate receiving a quality photo of Commander Wyatt. The couple's wedding took place at the Grafton Street Methodist church in Halifax, N.S., on February 1, 1917 and for a brief time before moving to Boston, they lived at 23 Vernon Street, close to Dalhousie University. Acting Commander Wyatt's parents were Harry Frederick Jenny Wyatt and Margery Sarah New Zealina O'Neill (b. 1854) (Aukland, New Zealand). Married 05 Dec., 1876 in St. Jude's Church, Southsea, Hants., England. Evan Wyatt's younger sister was named Madeline (b.1880). The same request for photographs is made to descendants of Captain AimŽ Le MŽdec (Mont Blanc) living in Damgan, Morbihan or Saint-Nazaire in France and to descendants of Captain Haakon From (Imo) that may be living in Sandefjord, Norway.
